Boonsville is a small rural community in southwestern Wise County, TX, of about fifty people. Like so many early settlements that initially thrived, their decline was caused by the lack of a railroad stop here.

Who Put it Here?: Boonsville Cemetery

Description of Memorial:
The memorial is comprised of two sections. The original section is made of red granite, and it stands at an angle, rising to the east. There is a flag of the United States at the top, followed by a list of veterans, in white, separated by the wars in which they served. The second section is also of red granite, rectangular in shape, and it is flush with the ground in front of the original section. Its text is in black, with the veterans also separated by the theaters in which they served.
