[GER] Das Gebäude wurde ursprünglich als Wasserturm im Jahre 1915 fertig gestellt. Der Wasserturm wurde im Jahre 1930 in ein PLanetarium umgebaut, da Leistungsfähige Pumpen den Wasserturm seit 1924 überflüssig machten.
Das Hamburg Wappen befindet sich an der Turmseite die in Richtung Stadtparksee zeigt direkt oberhalb des Schriftzuges "Planetarium" und oberhalb der nicht mehr in Betrieb befindlichen Wasserspiele am Turmfuss.
[ENG] The building was originally completed as a water tower in 1915. The water tower was converted into a panetarium in 1930, since efficient pumps made the water tower superfluous since 1924.
The Hamburg coat of arms is located on the tower side which points in the direction of the Stadtparksee directly above the lettering "Planetarium" and above the water features at the foot of the tower which are no longer in use.

[GER] Das Wappen von Hamburg zeigt in Rot eine hervorkommende silberne Burg mit geschlossenem Rundbogentor, auf dem Zinnenkranz mit sieben Zinnen drei Türme, die beiden Äußeren vierfach gezinnt und von je einem sechszackigen silbernen Stern überhöht, der mittlere großer mit Kuppel, darauf ein Knauf und ein Kreuz.
Auf dem rot-silbern bewulsteten Bügelhelm mit rot-silbernen Decken fächerweise sechs seitlich abflatternde rote Lanzenfähnchen, darauf die silberne Burg, zwischen der ersten und zweiten, der dritten und vierten und der fünften und sechsten Lanzenstange je eine natürliche Pfauenfeder. Schildhalter: rechts und links ein widersehender goldener Löwe.
[ENG] The coat of arms of Hamburg shows in red a protruding silver castle with a closed round arched gate, on the battlements with seven battlements three towers, the two outer ones tinned fourfold and each heightened by a six-pointed silver star, the middle big one with dome, on it a knob and a cross.
On the red-silver beaded helmet with red-silver covers fan-wise six red lance flags fluttering off at the sides, on it the silver castle, between the first and second, the third and fourth and the fifth and sixth lance pole a natural peacock feather each. Shield holder: right and left a resisting golden lion.
