A Caumont-sur-Durance, sur le site d'une villa romaine du 1er siècle, un exceptionnel vestige a été découvert.

Un bassin d'agrément de 65m de long pavé de près de 55 000 petites briquettes d'argile aux couleurs variées a été mis à jour, restauré et protégé, puis présenté au cœur d'un jardin de 12000 m2, reconstitué comme le concevaient les romains.

Cet espace d'agrément a été organisé en 8 jardins thématiques dédiés symboliquement à une divinité antique.

Le jardin romain a remporté l'or et l'argent aux victoires du paysage 2010 pour sa bonne intégration au site, sa mise en valeur des témoignages archéologiques et par la restitution pédagogique des lieux.

In Caumont-sur-Durance, on the place of a roman villa of the first century, an exceptional remain has been discovered.

A pond (pool) of agreement of 65 m long with a pavement of about 55 000 clay stories with various colors has been came out, restored and protected, then presented in the center of a 12 000 m2 garden, as Roman thought.

This pleasure space has been organized in 8 thematic gardens, symbolic given to antic divinity.

The Roman Garden won gold and silver at the competition of the victories of landscape 2010.
