Almost every village in the current Czech Republic (former Czechoslovakia) has a monument devoted to the victims of WWI and WWII. Among the victims of WWII were also civilians who participated in home resistance against German occupiers or died in German concentration camps. The monuments also mention the names of soldiers of the former Czechoslovak army.

This memorial plaque is located on the wall of childhod home of Jaks family. The inscription on the plaque talks about of heroism their members:
