The Center of Advanced European Studies and Research (Caesar) is a foundation for the promotion of applied research. It operates the Caesar research centre of the same name, based in Bonn.
Caesar conducts research in the fields of neuroscience, cell biology and biophysics using kinetic, microscopic, spectroscopic and behavioural methods. The research focuses on cellular signal processing and the neuronal basis of animal behaviour.
The research centre started operations in 1999 and moved to its present location in Bonn's Rheinaue in Hochkreuz, Ludwig-Erhard-Allee 2 in 2003.
