A green plaque at Wymondham old fire station, Market Street, Wymondham, now opened up to lead into a car park.

The plaque reads -
The
Old Fire Station
1882-1967

Presented to the town by
Mrs. Julia de Rubigne Beevor Clarke,
it housed the Volunteer Fire
Brigade until 1967.


"This fire station, when first built, had to sets of doors with a smaller door between them. When motorised appliances arrived, however, the central door was removed to allow for two sets of wider doors to accommodate two Commer pumps, one with a trailer pump."
