The plaque reads -
The Old Grammar School
Founded in 1567 by Archbishop of
Canterbury. Originally housed in
Becket's Chapel, the school moved
to this and neighbouring
buildings 1835-1903.
The Guild chapel in Wymondham dedicated to St Thomas Becket became the Wymondham Free School in 1561. It moved to this building at some time in 1835, but Wymondham Grammar School closed in 1903.
