This path originated from community suggestions for a Millennium Project to celebrate the year 2000. A volunteer committee worked diligently to create this public walking path. The path was originally a 1.2 km walk leading from the site of the world-famous Giant Pumpkin to the centre of Roland, with various historical markers along the way. At some time since the path was constructed, a house was built over the path, and only the first 0.4 km can now be used. At the new end of the path is an historical marker at the former site of the CPR rail station.
