About the person:"Jason M. Dahl (born November 2, 1957) was an airline transport pilot for United Airlines from Denver, Colorado. Jason was the Captain of United Airlines Flight 93 which was hijacked at 9:28am on September 11, 2001, subsequently crashing at 10:02am in a field near Shanksville, Pennsylvania instead of its intended target, the US Capitol Building in Washington D.C. It is believed that the hijackers were subdued by the heroic actions of the passengers and crew on board.

Jason was born on November 2, 1957 in San Jose, California, later relocating to work for United in the Denver, Colorado area. He was the fourth of five children of Dwayne and Mildred Dahl. Growing up Jason helped his parents with their dairy delivery business in and around San Jose. Jason attended Andrew Hill High School graduating in 1975. While in high school Jason joined the Civil Air Patrol. He earned his pilot’s license in 1973 prior to even obtaining a driver’s license." (visit link)

About the place: "Dahl school first opened in 1955 under the name of Hillsdale. The school was renamed in 2002 after a former student at Hillsdale, Captain Jason M. Dahl, who was the United Airlines pilot of Flight #93 on September 11, 2001. The staff works very hard to keep his legacy as a hero alive by emphasizing with students the need for positive character traits, such as honesty, respect and responsibility." (visit link)
