This stone with inscribed cross is set in the center of a cement and brick patio and is less than 6" datum point to datum point from another (bronze disk) survey marker.
The High point is located on the grounds of the Ohio Hi-Point Career Center NE of Bellfontaine, OH. From US 33 - head NE on E Sandusky Ave for approximately .5 mi to the Career Center & high point on the right. Follow the entrance drive to the S to the top of the low hill & park near the standpipe.
A Ohio Historical Marker on the W side of the patio notes that the US Coast & Geodetic Survey place the marble stone at the highpoint in 1900 and measured the elevation at 1549.09 feet above sea level. However, no current published NGS datasheet was found.
