China Town ist ein Themengebiet des Phantasialands, einem der größten Freizeitparks Deutschlands. Die Thematisierung beinhaltet eine riesige Statue vom Oberkörper Buddhas. Sie ist etwa sechs Meter groß und in einer Nische aus künstlichen Felsen etwas oberhalb vom Gehweg positioniert. Zu beiden Seiten der Statue sind Blumen und Nachbildungen von typischen Opfergaben.

Ein Buddha ist in der Lehre des Buddhismus ein übermenschliches Wesen, das übernatürliche Erkenntnis über das Leiden des Menschen sowie natürliche Phänomene erlangt hat. Er hat sich vom dualistischen Geist befreit und hat so die vollständige Befreiung erlangt. Wenn außerhalb des Buddhismus von "Buddha" die Rede ist, ist in der Regel Buddha Shakyamuni gemeint, der auch hier in dieser Statue abgebildet wurde. Er war der erste Buddha, verbeitete den Dharma, die Lehren des Buddhismus, und war somit der Begründer des Buddhismus.
China Town is a themed section of Phantasialand, one of the largest amusement parks in Germany. The theming includes a huge statue of the upper body of Buddha. It is about six meters tall and positioned in a niche of artificial rocks just above the walkway. On both sides of the statue are flowers and replicas of typical offerings.

In the Buddhist doctrine, a Buddha is a superhuman being who has acquired supernatural knowledge about human suffering as well as natural phenomena. He has freed himself from the dualistic spirit and has thus achieved complete liberation. When the term "Buddha" is used outside of Buddhism, it is generally meant Buddha Shakyamuni, who is also depicted here in this statue. He was the first Buddha to practice the Dharma, the teachings of Buddhism, and thus was the founder of Buddhism.
