On the right-hand (northern) brick pillar of the Memorial Gates is a bronze plaque, in a Gothic-arched inlay, which reads:

  These gates were
Erected in Memory of
 those who Died and
  Those who Served
in the 1939-1945 War
The pillars are on the diagonal to the intersection of Murray Road, and Malvern Avenue, and have green-painted wrought iron gates on them. I wasn't able to check out the Uniting Church (ex-Methodist) too much, as the Tongan Congregation was having their Service in the afternoon.
