"A redundant orphanage in Croydon has been transformed into the centrepiece of a residential campus for the Sisters of St Joseph NSW.

"The site has been developed in keeping with the subdivision pattern of the neighbourhood to provide 16 dwellings, with the original Italianate residence being upgraded to provide Convent accommodation over 3 levels."

On the front of the ivory-coloured, three-storey building, is an irregular brass plaque, with a green patina, which reads:

There is a circular driveway, with parking on the grass. The ground floor windows are all covered with painted steel bars. A central set of brown painted concrete steps leads up to an entry beneath the square tower.
