On the site of the Leeraner Miniaturland this Reko dining car is on display. The wagon has the number WRg 51 50 88-15 022 and is intended as a future outdoor part of the restaurant.
As Rekowagen were called at the German Reichsbahn (DR) railway cars, which were created by conversion of pre-war cars.
As early as 1960/61, nine 22.9-meter-long Reko dining cars were built at the Mitropa plant in Gotha on the basis of old-use underframes. Their car body followed the construction principles of the two- and three-axle Reko cars; In particular, the large sliding door at the end of the car was taken over. Five cars from 1960 were converted from seat cars and kept the gooseneck bogies of the donor car, the four remaining cars from 1961 were converted from dining car and received new bogies of the type Görlitz V.
