Just across Highway 155 from Grand Coulee Dam, P 510 is at the base of a tall rock cut.

It's not easy to park nearby without getting chastised by the security guards at the dam (experience talking). There is a pullout with parking about 800 feet up hill and another about 1800 feet downhill.

The marker is about 100 feet south of the light standard at the south edge of the steel tracks which run across the road and into the dam site. It is set in the top of a small ledge about 2 feet in height, beside a witness post on the west side of the highway.

AT THE WEST END OF GRAND COULEE DAM, IN TOP OF THE EAST EDGE OF A 4 BY 5 FOOT FLAT TOP SHELF IN A GRANITE CUT, 37.7 METERS (123.5 FT) SOUTH OF THE EXTENDED CENTERLINE OF THE ROAD LEADING OVER THE DAM, 5.8 METERS (19 FT) WEST OF THE WEST CURB OF THE HIGHWAY, 31.2 METERS (102 FT) SOUTH OF THE SOUTH CONCRETE RETAINING WALL OF A CRANE BAY ON THE WEST AXIS OF THE DAM, 10 METERS (33 FT) NORTH OF THE SOUTH EDGE OF A CONCRETE APRON AT THE BASE OF THE CUT, 0.6 METER (2 FT) WEST OF THE WEST EDGE OF THE ROCK SHELF.
THE MARK IS 0.3 METERS E FROM A WITNESS POST.
