Adam Hetler who was attached to Co. E. 16 Reg. M.V. was the father of Thomas Hetler.

The First Battle of Bull Run was fought on July 21, 1861 just north of the city of Manassas, VA. It was the first major battle of the Civil War. The Union Army was forced to make a disorganized retreat back to Washington D.C., 25 miles to the north and east.
