EN: Murg is a river name of Celtic origin, which occurs three times in Switzerland and twice in Baden-Württemberg. For distinction this river is called the Upper Murg or Hauensteiner Murg. The Hauensteiner Murg rises in the Black Forest near Herrischried and flows over a length of 22.4 kilometers, mainly in a southerly direction to the Rhine. When the water level is high, some sections are popular with whitewater kayakers. Along the entire course of the river there is a well-developed hiking trail, the Murgtalpfad.
The Rhine is one of the largest rivers in Europe with a length of over 1200 km from the Alps to the North Sea. Its catchment area is home to more than 50 million people.
The confluence is located south of the community center of Murg, which is also named after the river. A few meters from the confluence, a small bridge leads over the Murg.
DE: Murg ist ein Gewässername keltischen Ursprungs, der in der Schweiz dreimal und in Baden-Württemberg zweimal vorkommt. Dieser Fluss wird zur Unterscheidung Obere Murg oder Hauensteiner Murg genannt. Die Hauensteiner Murg entspringt im Schwarzwald in der Nähe von Herrischried und fliesst auf einer Länge von 22.4 Kilometern vorwiegend in südlicher Richtung zum Rhein. Bei hohem Wasserstand sind einige Streckenabschnitte bei Wildwassserkanuten beliebt. Entlang des ganzen Flusslaufs befindet sich ein gut ausgebauter Wanderweg, der Murgtalpfad.
Der Rhein ist einer der größten Flüsse Europas mit einer Länge von über 1200 km von den Alpen bis zur Nordsee. In seinem Einzugsgebiet leben mehr als 50 Mio. Menschen.
Der Zusammenfluss befindet sich südlich des Gemeindezentrums von Murg, das ebenfalls nach dem Fluss benannt ist. Weinge Meter vom Zusammenfluss führt eine klein Brücke über die Murg.
