Three buildings make up the governing complex of the town of Boley. They are located at the intersection of S. Pecan Street and W. 3rd Avenue. The Town Hall is located in a one-story metal building located on 3rd Avenue. Addresses for the town hall vary online from 307 S. Pecan, 309 S. Pecan and 11 W. 3rd. The town hall stands just north (behind) the metal fire department building. West of the fire department, is a newer brick building which houses the police department and the municipal court.
The town of Boley does not have a web page. It is governed by a mayor and Board of Trustees and Town Manager.
Boley was established in 1903 and was one of the original all-black towns. It flourished in those early years, but the cotton crop failures of the 1920's and the Depression in the 1930's took its toll and the population decreased from 4000 to its current population of 1180. Most of the buildings in the downtown area are vacant and in ruins, but the town still succeeds with fierce pride.
