The original Masonic Lodge in this all-black town of Boley was a three-story concrete and limestone block building constructed in 1915. Black Masons from around the state would flock to this Lodge on pilgrimage each year. It is currently only one story and is occupied as the post office. On the upper wall are words reading "M. W. Lee / 1956" and we suspect that was year the building was altered.

Boley was one of the all-black towns established in Oklahoma, this one primarily for black railroad workers. It was begun in 1903 and grew to be a thriving town of 4,000 by 1911. However, the crop failures of the 1920's and the Great Depression of the 1930's left the town diminished as people moved away and did not return. Today, the downtown area is pretty much deserted, and the population is about 1180.

This building is one of fourteen in the Boley Historic District, placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.
