The 18-basket course in Peterborough's Riverview Park was bustling with players when I visited on a Tuesday evening in mid-may. Teams of 4-6 players were seemingly at ever hole, and many were pulling "cart" filled with assorted colorful disks. I spoke with one player and was told that today was the last day that the full course would be open, until the fall. He told me that holes 10-18 get removed for the summer due to the number of park visitors, and that the normal course for summer is to play holes 1-9 twice (if I understood correctly)

A history of this course, from the Peterborough Disc Golf Club's website (visit link)
Peterborough’s nine basket course is located alongside the Otonabee River in beautiful Riverview Park next to the Zoo. In 1996 Parks Supervisor at the time Wally Davidson came across the sport at a parks and rec trade show. With in a year the 9 basket course was fully installed and early in 97' it held its first event with great success. The Peterborough Disc Golf Club was established in May 2009 and began working with the park and zoo staff on improvements to get the most out of the course, including the implementation of nine new tee locations. In June 2010 the back nine tee markers were placed, with crushed limestone added in September 2010. August 2011 saw 6 of the teepads become poured concrete, and the installation of 5 of the new Chainstar Baskets. Spring 2012 came with a detention pond construction project that resulted in the removal of holes 6, 7, 8. To accommodate this change, the zoo allowed the construction of a new hole, now #3, in the Cedar Forest just southwest of original #3. Renumbering of the holes meant that a new #7 and #8 would have to designed around the construction. The planting of vegetation on the new hole was altered to create two new holes, one now being over 350ft in length, making it the longest hole in Peterborough. The remainder of the teepads are now concrete, and new signage was designed to include hole maps, double pin locations, and distance measurements.
