This is a circular bronze plaque, on a boulder, near the centre of Adelaide.

Symmetrically placed around the circular bronze plaque are four women wearing service hats, with a central woman wearing a nurse's veil. Surrounding, and separate is a bronze 'ribbon', with the following inscription at the top:

"This Monument is Dedicated to the women of
"South Australia who Served in the Defense
"Forces of Australia during World War II, 1939-1945.

"WE SALUTE THEM"

At the base of the boulder is a rectangular bronze plaque, which reads:

"Unveiled by Trish Worth
Federal Member for Adelaide
On 20.4.97
On behalf of the Council of
United Ex-Servicewomen (SA) Inc.
And Council President
Coral E. Farrelly, OAM

Artist: Janette Moore in association with
Margaret Worth".
