The Blacksmiths Cottage is a two up, one down timber framed brick noggin building, formerly lath and plaster, with original beams and eyebrow dormer windows. It has been lovingly restored and is now in use as a holiday cottage attached to the Stamford Arms pub.

"Cottage. Late C17. Restored c.1980. Timber framed with brick noggin and thatched roof with a single wall and a single gable stack. Single storey plus attics. 2 bays of box framing with upper braces. South-east front has plank door with adjoining C20 window to right, beyond a further 2 light window. Above 2, 3 light eyebrow dormers.
Interior: reputed to retain exposed ceiling beams and purlins, plus wind braces to roof. Lean-to addition at rear of rubble stone."
