The B8005 road leaves the B8004 on the south side of Loch Lochy and heads up the western side of the loch for four miles before turning sharply to the left at Clunes and heading westwards through the Mile Dorcha (Dark Mile), a wooded valley. With the eastern end of Loch Arkaig in sight, the narrow road crosses a hump-back stone arch over the Abhainn Chia-aig. From just west of here the road continues along the northern edge of the loch as a minor road.

The bridge, also known as Drochaid Chia-aig, is thought to be over 200 years old, and offers a perfect view of the falls of Eas Chia-aig a few yards to the north across the Witches Pool.

The bridge features in the film Rob Roy and a car park is situated around a hundred yards to the east on the north side of the road.
