Driving through a primarily residential area on South Mustang Road, we noticed this pink granite marker mounted at an angle on a single pole, standing on the grounds of a small AT&T office building. Apparently, this section of town was originally the downtown business district.

No indication is shown as to who erected the marker. Beneath an engraved sketch of an early downtown scene, the marker reads:
