The Old Hare & Hounds in Anstey is a pub which holds the Cask Marque Award for serving great quality real ale.
"A former coaching inn situated within Anstey Conservation area and described by the local authority as a "Key Unlisted Building". The Old Hare & Hounds is a typical village pub of traditional character, consisting of a small lounge on the right and a lobby-bar to the left opened out into a former smoke room, and a separate games room. Behind the front bars are two lounge areas at a higher level. Out the back is a yard furnished with picnic tables.
Historic Interest -
The pub was owned by Daniel Pettifor's Steam Brewery, Anstey (established 1840), until 1900 when Pettifors were taken over by Marstons."
