La frontière belgo-néerlandaise s'étend sur 450 km, au sud des Pays-Bas et au nord de la Belgique. Elle sépare cinq provinces belges (Flandre-Occidentale, Flandre-Orientale, Anvers, Limbourg belge et Liège) de trois provinces néerlandaises (Zélande, Brabant-Septentrional et Limbourg néerlandais).
Elle débute à l'est sur le tripoint du Vaalserberg réunissant également les frontières germano-belge et germano-néerlandaise, puis se termine à l'ouest à la mer du Nord dans le Zwin). 369 poteaux frontaliers en fonte délimitent la frontière. Ils sont placés essentiellement aux endroits où la frontière change de direction. Historiquement, depuis un poteau frontalier, on devrait pouvoir voir le poteau suivant ; de nos jours, cela n'est plus toujours possible.
Cette frontière possède également la spécificité de couper certaines maisons en deux avec un marquage sur le trottoir, c'est le cas notamment à Baarle.
