If you happen to be coming down TX-19 from Trinity, this is a easy stop. Chances are you are planning on stopping at the truss bridge, anyway.
But, if you are driving towards the town of Trinity, it can get tricky. From Riverside continue across the Trinity River and drive a few more miles. Take the turn around and head back towards Riverside. Exit off of the highway so you will cross the river on the big silver bridge. This gage station is just across the bridge.
From this point, the Trinity River wanders about 10 miles through the countryside where it enters Lake Livingston.
