Historic Interest -

Located at the village crossroads, the pub dates from the early seventeenth century and was a coaching inn at one time."

"Built the early 1600's, formally an old coaching inn and the home of a bee keeper. An old tale says that the pub caught fire and that the fire was extinguished using the beer! The pub was thatched until 1929 and the Wright family from Thurcaston held the tenancy for 105 years.
The Marshall family have been here for 22 years and have always been passionate about retaining the traditional image of a country inn with log fires, oak beams, old maps and documents reminding us of past times.
Excellent cask conditioned ales, fine wines and home cooked food are served daily, an extremely well qapeinted skittle alley/function room is used for traditional skittle parties, family get togethers, Birthday parties, reunions, funeral teas, fund raising events, vintage style weddings and much more - venue not to be missed!"
