Bull Foot Park - Hennessey, OK - Municipal Parks and Plazas on Waymarking.com

Bull Foot Park is located on the west side of Highway 81, south of Hennessey. This is a large area, with a walking trail around its perimeter, and a large creek-fed pond which is said to be in the shape of a bull's foot. A wooden footbridge crosses this creek southeast of the pond.

The park has a playground, and a centennial plaza with a clock and time capsule. In the distance, on the open, rolling land are a couple dozen silhouettes of cattle, reminiscent of the herds of cattle which were driven through this area from Texas to the rail heads in Kansas in the late 1800's. The park does have a picnic table and BBQ, but the purpose of the park is historical as much as recreational.
