There was presumably a community -- one of many in Texas -- here called "Friendship". Some maps show a school, but only the foundation and some rubble remain, buried in dense brush. This is a Historic Texas Cemetery, and a medallion and plate at the gate note that the cemetery was established in 1877.
A notable burial here is the arm of J.E. Arrington. In an attempt to stop spreading cancer, Mr. Arrington's arm was amputated on October 11, 1897. Unfortunately, Mr. Arrington lived for another two months, and he was buried near the arm, which has its own headstone.
