The City of Riom offers tourists a very good observation point, located almost in its center: the Tower of the Clock.
It is an old belfry that overlooks the city and surrounding countryside on 360 degrees. It was rebuilt in the Renaissance, in lava stone, on a medieval base.
Octagonal tower with clock dial, shield badge, necklace of the order of St. Michael and salamander of Francis I. The Dome was set up in 1785.
The upper part carries a sundial and sculptured ornaments, like the salamander of Francis I. On the ground floor there is a permanent exhibition on the Riomois heritage, panels on the history of the city, a tactile model and an interesting relief.
