L’église de Nesmes est au moins aussi ancienne que sa voisine de Jovard, et l’on peut supposer qu’elle n’a pas été reconstruite depuis l’époque lointaine où Pierre II, évêque de Poitiers, en faisait donation aux bénédictins de Saint-Savin, en 1092.

The church of Nesmes is at least as old as its neighbor of Jovard, and one can suppose that it has not been rebuilt since the distant time when Peter II, bishop of Poitiers, made it donation to the Benedictines of Saint-Savin, in 1092.
