While the South Grafton Post Office seems an impressive example of Federation styling, with its twin arched doors into the postal box foyer, and Clock Tower and belfry, there is scant mention online for it.

The mid part of the clock tower rises a floor above the single-storey post office in the same orientation, but the four clock face section is set at the diagonal, with a belfry above that.

The clock faces have pink painted circular moulding surrounding them. The detail of the face are in light brown, with white background, and not glass covered, so open to the weather. There are three concentric rings, with the outer two being narrow, for the minute ticks, and the broader two circles with the brown painted Roman numerals. The minute hand is typically long, reaching out to the outer circle, with a slight narrow double curve. While the hour hand is quite short, with a bulbous point and a narrow waist.

Each clock face is between square faced colonnades, that support the open belfry. Three square wooden posts are close together on each corner, to support the metal-clad pointed roof. The north and south sides of the belfry have an inverted "V" formed of wooden bracing. No attachment point could be seen left in the belfry.
