Placed on the National Register in 1984, this building is steeped in history. After the Land Run in 1889, this was the second building constructed. it opened in June 1890. It has the significance of being the oldest bank building in Kingfisher County, and one of the oldest banks in Indian Territory.
This is a two-story brick building with a smooth ashlar stone veneer on the facade, and two Ionic pillars flanking the central entrance door.The door is metal with a glass panel, and there is a small canopy over the door. On either side of the door are two windows, with a smaller window to the left, and the stairs to the second floor on the right. Above the windows are panels of glass blocks with either 72 or 99 panes in each. The windows on the second floor are three-over-two single hung. A frieze across the front of the building reads: Farmers and Merchants Nat'l Bank.
Established as the Farmers and Merchants Bank, it became the Farmers and Merchants State Bank in 1907, and in 1912, Farmers and Merchants National Bank. it operated at this located until 1959. The building is now occupied as Garden's Edge, a flower and gift shop.
