From the local newspaper 17th June 2015 (

Former chairman of Kempsey Parish Council Cllr Harrison fought to bring a post office back to the village along with other chairmen past and present, including Terry Ward and John Michael.
The post office will be open 111 hours a week - 6am to 10pm (Monday to Saturday) and 7am until 10pm on Sundays.
He said: "We all campaigned for it. People need to know it's there. It certainly saves queuing. It has to be open some of the longest hours in the county.
"If someone had told me this would happen a few years ago I would not have believed them. I was fairly convinced, after campaigning for it, that it wasn't going to happen."
The battle to get the stamp of approval for a post office in the village has been a long saga which risked becoming a dead letter since the one in Post Office Lane closed in November, 2008.
