Texas Historic Site Atlas

The Alexander and Speer Building was constructed in 1900 for a cost of $325 by George Kennedy. Thomas Jefferson Alexander and Joe Alley Speer built the property to house their drug business. Although sold several times, the building remains a drug store and retains most of its integrity. It is one of the oldest buildings in Blanco and is significant in representing commercial development at the turn of the century.
