Kentucky's Resort Parks are state parks which include a resort, in this case the fieldstone Jesse Stuart Lodge, named in honor of Jesse Hilton Stuart (1906-1984), Poet Laureate and native of Greenup County. In the lodge is the Anglers Cove Restaurant which utilizes locally grown meats and produce when available. The lodge features 36 rooms with private patios and balconies overlooking Greenbo Lake and the surrounding woodlands.
Part of the park is right on the lake while other sections, including a swimming pool, an amphitheater, tennis courts, campground, 25 miles of hiking and biking trails and a refreshment stand, are in separate clearings in the woods, joined by paved roads. See this
Facility Map.
Facilities and activities include Fishing, Boating, Swimming, Hiking, Biking, Paddling, Camping, Miniature Golf, Tennis, concerts in the Park and scuba diving in a 10-acre scuba refuge. The large campground has over 80 individual campsites, 58 with utility hookups and 36 primitive sites.
The lodge and restaurant are open year round, while the rest of the park is open April through October.
