Texas Historic Site Atlas

The Blanco Historic District covers approximately eight city blocks in the center of the City of Blanco. Set on a gridiron form around a central courthouse square just north of Town Creek, the focal point of the district is the former Blanco County Courthouse, visible from all approaches. Its 2-story native limestone facade in the Second Empire style establishes the architectural milieu enhanced by the largely 1-story surrounding residential, commercial, and governmental properties. A variety of stylistic influences and architectural forms is evident in the district as are periods of development from the mid-19th century to the present. The district is comprised of 46 properties, 25 Contributing and 21 Noncontributing.
