He was born on December 29, 1857 in Owensboro, KY and died on June 8, 1943 in San Antonio, TX. He attained the rank of Brigadier General in the U.S. Army. His Medal of Honor information and citation is: CRUSE, THOMAS

Citation: Gallantly charged hostile Indians, and with his carbine compelled a party of them to keep under cover of their breastworks, thus being enabled to recover a severely wounded soldier.
