The VFW Post that originally erected this marker has since closed. When originally placed it had names on one side.

A new group called Eagle Lake Ex-Military Association has taken the action of adding names to the monument as needed. Sadly, the list of names has grown and they are about to run out of room on the monument.

All but one of the veterans listed on this memorial were killed in either World War I or World War II. Clifton R. Gertsen was killed near Mosul, Iraq.

The date of death for Martin Perry is not listed on the monument but has been added in the monument text below.
Type of Memorial: Non-Specific Memorial

Wars mentioned (Multi-war only):
No wars a specifically mentioned, however, all but one of the listed veterans died in either World War I or World War II.
