Modest 4 foot zinc marker located in St John's Anglican Church Cemetery.

The obelisk style marker features an epitaph facing, and plain facings on the other thre sides.

Main text reads:

Martha Hayward

beloved wife of

John Saxton

Died Jan. 16 1871

Aged 21 Years
6 Months &
28 days

The base bears the epitaph:

"She sleeps beneath her native earth
And near the spot that gave her birth.
Her youthful feet trod flowers that bloom
In beauty o'er her early tomb."

The base reads simply "SAXTON"

The opposite side of the base reads "1882".
