Gananoque's Welcome Arch was originally erected in 1927 and then re-erected in 1956 by the Town of Gananoque.
"A cordial welcome is extended to all who enter these gates."
Ever since The 1000 Islands became an international tourist destination, Gananoque has been on the map. This arch shows that this has been the case since at least 1927. That means the earliest of automobiles found their way here.
