Surrounded by Oklahoma City on three sides, Jones is a suburban community. It was originally founded with the name Glaze, in 1898, and grew over the years with its railroad connections, and proximity to Tinker Air Force Base. The town was incorporated in 1909 and has a current population a little over 3,000.
The post office is located at 120 E. Main. This is a one-story red brick building with a flat roof, and large glass windows. The post office counter is open Mon-Fri from 8:00-12:00; 1:00-4:15 and is open on Sat. from 9:00-10:00. The lobby is open 24/7.
