"Historic Interest -
A former Shipstone's house, the Running Horse has a superb late Victorian or Edwardian green and yellow tiled exterior on the ground floor. In 1876 the landlord was F. Hazeldine (Post Office Directory). The Running Horse has a place on Nottingham Civic Society's Draft Local Heritage List (09 December 2013), which notes that the pub "has a striking glazed exterior" and that it was awarded the Civic Society Mark of the month (Commendation) after its 2003 refurbishment. Possibly named for the white running Horse of Westphalia, emblem of the House of Hanover and which appeared on the Royal Arms between 1714 and 1837. The Running Horse is in Nottingham City Council's Canning Circus Conservation Area."
