The concept of having a War Museum, specifically for Australia's involvement in Vietnam originated with John Methven in 1996, a Vietnam veteran himself. His collection of artifacts and memorabilia at San Remo got too big, and was moved to this location in March 2007.
The museum and grounds contain a large collection of items and memorabilia including vehicles and aircraft. Expect to take a couple of hours to check it out. There is also a 'mezzanine' level, which I'm not sure is wheelchair accessible.
The Wikipedia site mentions some of the aircraft are on site: de Havilland Canada DHC-4 Caribou; English Electric Canberra Bomber, Westland Wessex Helicopter; Bell AH-1 Helicopter Gunship; Bell UH-1 Iroquois Helicopter; Bell H-13 Sioux Helicopter; and Grumman S-2 Tracker. (
