Interessant ist die Entstehungsgeschichte des markanten Brunnens:
1983, anläßlich des 100 – jährigen Bestehens der Dauner Freiwilligen Feuerwehr, fand ein Luftballonwettbewerb statt. In Carisolo/Trentino, nördl. des Gardasees, landete der am weitesten geflogene Ballon; ein Mädchen dieser Stadt sandte die Grußkarte zurück. In der Folge entwickelte sich ein Kontakt von Feuerwehr zu Feuerwehr, gegenseitige Besuche und Geschenke vertieften die Freundschaft.
1988 überraschte man die Dauner mit einem wertvollen Brunnen aus Granitgestein, gebrochen in einem Steinbruch von Carisolo."

The history of the development of the striking fountain is interesting:
In 1983, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Daun Volunteer Fire Brigade, a balloon competition took place. In Carisolo/Trentino, north of Lake Garda, the most widely flown balloon landed; a girl from this city sent back the greeting card. Subsequently, a contact between the fire brigade and the fire brigade developed, mutual visits and gifts deepened the friendship.
In 1988, the Daun people were surprised with a valuable well made of granite stone, quarried in a quarry in Carisolo."
