Die Conlog-Arena erhält einen neuen Namen: Ab 1. Januar heißt die Sporthalle auf dem Oberwerth CGM-Arena. Der auf sieben Jahre zwischen der Stadt Koblenz und der CompuGroup Medical SE (CGM) geschlossene Vertrag enthält zudem eine Option auf eine Verlängerung, heißt es in einer Pressemitteilung der Stadtverwaltung. Die Vertragsunterzeichnung fand am Mittwoch im Rathaus statt.

Oberbürgermeister Joachim Hofmann-Göttig bezeichnet die Entscheidung für die CGM als einen großen Gewinn, sowohl für die Stadt selbst als auch für die Arena. „Wir freuen uns, mit der CGM ein Koblenzer Vorzeigeunternehmen als Partner gefunden zu haben. Denn die CGM ist nicht nur für uns in Koblenz ein wichtiger Wirtschaftsmotor und Arbeitgeber, sondern auch weit über die Region hinaus“, so der OB. Frank Gotthardt, Vorstandsvorsitzender und Gründer der CGM, sagt: „Wir sind stolz, den Zuschlag erhalten zu haben.“
Die Arena hat sich seit ihren Anfängen vor 25 Jahren als Sporthalle Oberwerth deutlich weiterentwickelt: Sie ist heute Multifunktionsarena und Anziehungspunkt für bislang mehr als 3 Millionen Menschen – und das weit über Koblenz hinaus. Die Namensrechte an der Arena stehen für die CGM laut Pressemitteilung für mehr als nur die Steigerung des Bekanntheitsgrades und das Werben neuer Mitarbeiter. „Es ist für uns vor allem auch ein deutliches Bekenntnis zum Standort“, sagt Gotthardt.
Er ist mit dem Konzern und persönlich in Koblenz und der Region seit 30 Jahren tief verwurzelt. Das internationale Unternehmen mit Hauptsitz in Koblenz beschäftigt allein hier mehr als 1000 Menschen und versorgt unter anderem Ärzte, Zahnärzte und Apotheker mit für sie speziell entwickelter Software.

Lord Mayor Joachim Hofmann-Göttig describes the decision for the CGM as a big win, both for the city itself and for the arena. "We are pleased to have found a Koblenz flagship company as a partner with CGM. After all, CGM is not only an important economic engine and employer for us in Koblenz, but also far beyond the region, "says the OB. The Arena has evolved significantly since its inception 25 years ago as Sporthalle Oberwerth: today it is a multifunctional arena and attraction for more than 3 million people so far - far beyond Koblenz. The naming rights to the arena are for the CGM according to the press release for more than just increasing the level of awareness and attracting new employees. "Above all, it is a clear commitment to the location," says Gotthardt.
He has been deeply rooted in the Group and personally in Koblenz and the region for 30 years. The international company headquartered in Koblenz employs more than 1,000 people and supplies doctors, dentists and pharmacists with specially developed software.
