This commemorative stone is dedicated to Central Public School. Placed in 2003 the stone marks 150 years of education. Opened in 1853 this was the largest school in Upper Canada at that time. There are numerous other plaques here including a Ontario Heritage Plaque and a Heritage Property Designation.

The stone is located in front of the school in a garden near Hunter Street.
