Rissani is a city with a population of about 25,000 in the southeast of Morocco. It is located at the edge of the desert Sahara.
You get to Rissani via the road N13 by car or bus. If you enter the city from western direction, you'll pass a large, pompous gate at the city entrance. It has one large opening for cars and two smaller ones for pedestrians.
The gate is made from clay and sandstone and decorated with lots of delicate ornaments. On top of the gate, five Moroccan flags are hoisetd.
