OK, I'll admit it. I do NOT like "Up, Up and Away." I am waymarking this sculpture because I beg the waymarking public to 'splain to me the artistic relevance, meaning and value of this large chunk of metal. To me, it is a gray blob of steel sitting in a concrete plaza in front of a plain gray building. You'd think the photo was in black and white. Sadly, it is in color.
This sculpture is just outside the headquarters of my employer, so I get to see it each and every day. When I was hired as an attorney there, one of my first assignments was to research whether the bank, as owner of the property, had the ability to remove the sculpture. Sadly, my answer was "no." And here it still sits, 13 years later.
